Breeding quality English Labs for companions and the show ring
I knew when I was eight years old that I wanted a Labrador Retriever; my best friend’s family had a yellow Labrador named Merc and I loved that dog.
When the time came that I had a home, a yard and a settled life style – I purchased two Labrador retrievers in 1987. One happened to be a granddaughter of Ch. Monarch’s Black Arrogance and Ch. Ebonylanes Aslan; and her breeder talked me into showing! Since I’d shown horses before, I thought this would be great fun!
My first show was the 1987 National Specialty in Albuquerque, New Mexico and my sweet Dyna was second in both her sweeps and regular classes! Let’s just say the hook was set deep! So thirty years later I’m still enjoying this wonderful breed of Labrador Retrievers and the great people who show in conformation and participate in obedience, field & hunt tests, tracking and all the other pursuits at which our versatile breed excels.
My breeding program is limited as I usually only have one or two litters a year. I breed yellow and black Labrador retrievers primarily for conformation purposes, but I am aware that most puppies are placed in family homes and therefore always keep in mind that temperament and soundness are very important.
